It takes time, but eventually the corporation's bottom line will tell the story. Patience my friend and by all means, shop somewhere else in the meantime. I have a reno going and had the contractor sign an agreement that none of the materials for my job can be purchased at Home Depot.
Yeah, I have tried to get people to not use corporations as political tools because if you do that, you end up getting the business to take a political position. It's not going to work out well in your favour. Despite my issues with many companies over the past few years, I do everything I can not to make decisions about what I buy based on my dislike of what they've done.
Home Depot and other corporations are only coming in line with what the schools are teaching, at least what my kids' schools have tried to teach them. When little white girls and boys are told to remember they are "settler people" and should think about what they have to say to "others" through that lens, they are being taught that because of the way they look they should stay quiet, feel guilty, and be afraid of their own thoughts and opinions because they are all potentially bad and harmful to others. That's not progress, teaching people to examine every interaction through a lens of skin color, ethnicity, religion, and economic status is going backwards, it's harmful to everyone. It's extremely frustrating to see this divisiveness everywhere, but the big corporations are just taking their cues from the movements in education and local governments and media like CBC radio.
This is why I now only listen to Jerry Agar on CFRB. They can keep the rest of their shows as well as their news cast. If I want CTV news I’ll look on TV which won’t not the radio. Too bad but it will get worse if we don’t take a stand.

Totally agree with you closing comments. How to change it?
I am shocked about Home Depot considering that the guy who started the business is conservative. Not sure if he is still in charge though.
Walmart was a lot different when Sam Walton was around as well.

Question,is it worthwhile to write/email and complain? I'm sure employees would love to speak up but can't
