Thank you for sticking with me

Because of you, the risk was worth taking.

Just over three months ago, I took a risk by picking a fight with the biggest media company in Canada. Most people advised against calling out the bully on the block. They said I should accept whatever money was offered to me and avoid public conflict with Bell.

But I followed my heart. I wanted to stand up for myself and, more importantly, other Canadians who are punished by corporations for not being liberal enough. And I wanted to affirm that we have no reason to be afraid of anything or anybody when the truth is on our side.

At this point, I can say with confidence that the risk was worth taking. Not only do I have a new job as President of the Canada Strong & Free Network (which I shared with you last week), but next week I’ll also be starting a new partnership with Postmedia to create video, audio, and written content. You’ll be seeing a lot of me on National Post and Toronto Sun platforms moving forward.

Just as I did as a radio host, on these platforms I will challenge liberal elites and explore heterodox political views. My hope is to offer political and cultural insights that help working middle class families hold institutions accountable. The priorities of far too many people are underrepresented in media and politics today.

I’m excited to work with Postmedia because it’s a company that genuinely embraces diversity of thought. I can focus on creating the best content possible, and not worry about management trying to force an agenda on me.

None of this would be possible without you, the subscribers to this Substack newsletter. After my radio show was taken off the air, it was you who made sure I didn’t lose my voice. With every like, share, forward, and re-tweet, the truth was known to more Canadians. You had my back when I needed friends to stand with me, and I’ll never forget that.

Substack is an incredibly valuable service. It helps writers build an independent relationship with our audiences. And it was critical for me to have the confidence and tools necessary to stand up to the Bell goliath.

I will continue to write this Substack newsletter moving forward, and grow the community we’ve started here. I appreciate each and every subscriber.
