A year ago, I launched this Substack newsletter. My goal was to tell the truth about what happened between me and Bell Media’s management, after Bell lied about their reasons for terminating me and ending The Jamil Jivani Show on iHeartRadio. I also wanted to draw attention to similar challenges facing Canadians from different walks of life, and the politics driving such injustices.
I had no idea who would care, and how many people would want to read what I have to say. But I quickly learned that there are many Canadians, Americans and people from other countries who are tired of the typical media narratives and looking for different perspectives. I have heard from countless men and women who are interested in genuine discussion and debate over the important issues of our time.
This newsletter now has thousands of subscribers. I’m grateful for each and every one, especially those who have generously shared their hard-earned dollars to become paid subscribers.
Together, we have helped raise awareness about important issues that resonate with Canadians across the country:
A growing number of Canadian politicians are now talking about the problems posed by powerful woke corporations, including proposed legislation to improve shareholder accountability and protect workers from political discrimination
Canadians from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds are pushing back against critical race theory in schools and workplaces
Bell Media has been called out by multiple other former employees/contractors for discrimination based on race and gender
Hundreds of Canadian students and early-career professionals have participated in mentorship, networking, and policy development initiatives hosted by the Canada Strong and Free Network
And we’re just getting started! The future is bright. Later this week, the newsletter will launch a new series called “Why I’m a conservative.” The series will invite Canadians to share why they identify as conservative and what being a conservative means to them, in their own words. (If you’d like to contribute, please contact me at jamil@canadastrongandfree.network)
Also, if you’re reading this, I hope you’ll consider attending the next Canada Strong and Free Network conference in Ottawa, March 22-24. The conference will feature an exciting lineup of speakers, including the Rt. Hon. Stephen J. Harper, Alberta Premier Danielle Smith, Manhattan Institute’s Reihan Salam, and many more exciting names. I’d love to meet you and say thanks in person, so drop me a line if you’ll be in attendance. You can register for the event here.
Thanks for inspiring me to keep pushing through whatever adversity comes my way. I hope that I can return the favour and inspire you by continuing to share what’s on my mind and on my heart.
I subscribed to your newsletter a year ago but have not been receiving it. I would like to unsubscribe. My husband who shares the same office subscribes
I appreciate your courage and leadership. Keep up the great work!
