A reasonable way to define and fight racism
We need to know what we believe in, so that we can confidently challenge the ideas that we reject.
Over the past few years, many of us have been asked to accept flawed definitions of racism. New language has been forced upon us, like “systemic racism,” which insists racism is not about individual morality but about collective guilt and punishment informed by statistical disparities.
If we’re going to overcome the distortions that wokeness has had on our institutions, a key step is rooting ourselves in a reasonable way to define and fight racism. We need to know what we believe in, so that we can confidently challenge the ideas that we reject.
This week’s episode of National Post’s Full Comment podcast can be helpful in arriving at a point of clarity for defining and fighting racism. I interview Kentucky State University professor Dr. Wilfred Reilly about Kanye West, Kyrie Irving and anti-semitism. The conversation naturally leads to exploring what and who we ought to consider racist.
I highly recommend the podcast and hope it will help you clarify your own beliefs on an important subject. Listen here.
